CRYSTALS: HOW TO CHOOSE CRYSTALS + CLEANSING TECHNIQUES

The benefits of using crystals on your spiritual path are undeniable. Crystals are AMAZING Healing tools, that pack SO much power. First of all, they are insanely gorgeous to look at. Whether raw or tumbled, their vibrancy in color and intricate texture make them wonderful pieces of home decor. More importantly, crystals are packed to the brim with intense healing power that YOU can harness to heal yourself and unlock magical gifts! Like opening your third eye to unveil psychic abilities, cleansing your sacral chakra for power in intimacy, and opening up your heart chakra to value empathy.

There are so many types of crystals and so many places to buy from! So where do you go from here?!

Choosing a crystal for your needs is a personal process, but their are a few steps I like to take when I choose my crystals. Just ask yourself a few questions like:

What am I trying to heal, cleanse, or access?
Different crystals do different things. Amethyst is great for opening up psychic gifts, removing intuitive blockages, or healing from psychic attacks, while black tourmaline is great for BLOCKING psychic attacks and offering protection.
My rule of thumb is to look at the crystals color and refer to the colors of your chakras and the colors you associate with emotions.

​An Example: Let's say, you'd like to work on self love and confidence.
When I think of love, I think of pink. When I think of my solar plexus chakra (confidence), I think of yellow and my heart chakra (love and compassion) I think green. So I'd automatically start to look at yellow, green and pink crystals. Pink stones like Rose Quartz, Rhodonite, and Rhodocrosite are wonderful for self love.

When I think yellow and green I'd look at, Citrine, Moon Stone , Aventurine, Jade, Green Tourmaline, etc. and read up on their healing properties and how they correlate to the chakras that support self love and confidence! There are stones of other colors that also support self love and confidence but if you're ever lost, colors do not lie!

Determining what you need to heal or access is also important for determine the SIZE of the crystal you want to buy. If you're working on healing, activating, or grounding certain chakras with crystals, opt for smaller pocket sized stones that are tumbled or rough. That way they are easier to place on the body during meditation at certain chakra points, and you can carry them around in a small pouch or on jewelry for all day healing.

Larger stones carry higher vibrations which may be too intense for healing work on people or pets. Larger crystals are great for shifting the overall energy of a space or location. So if you'd like to bring a loving environment into your home, get a large rose quartz point. Or if you want to set the tone for a healing space, a large Amethyst geode may better suit your needs than smaller stones.

What is my budget?
Knowing your budget is incredibly important when crystal shopping! Larger stones are usually pricer than smaller stones.
Also, do some research into a crystal's rarity! Certain stones are often very hard to come by, and depending on their rarity, they may be higher in price! You don't need ultra expensive stones to get awesome healing powers, look for alternatives or stones with similar qualities, besides you are the master of your reality. The power of a crystal can only be harnessed by you!

Where do I buy them?
Oh honey, with the magick of modern age technology, you can buy them ANY WHERE! There are so many wonderful small owned businesses that are selling crystal goodies. Some people are of the belief that you should only buy crystals in a physical shop, but I'm like "to HAY with that". Like I always say, you are the master of your reality and I am of the belief that you can vibe with any crystal. One gifted, one bought in store, one bought online. You control the energy flow, darling. I love to shop Etsy for crystals and also amazon will have some hidden treasures! It all depends on your budget, some sellers will charge more for stones than others. A tip is to just make sure that they are reputable cause FAKE CRYSTALS ARE REAL! Read the reviews and do some research, stones can be dyed or heat treated to look like other stones or they will just be glass!
